This Thanksgiving, we’ve been reminded once again how fortunate we are to call Carbondale home. Our small mountain town is surrounded by public lands that shape our daily lives — the forests we explore, the trails we cherish, and the landscapes that inspire our work every day. The people who care for these places are essential to the wellbeing of our community and the environment we’re committed to protecting.
As a young company rooted in sustainability, community and care for our environment, we believe that giving back is an essential part of how we show up. This year, we joined forces with local partners to share Thanksgiving meals with neighbors who do vital work or need a bit of extra support during the holiday season.
To bring this initiative to life, Flora Materials partnered with The Supply Collective, a neighboring business known for its locally prepared food and unwavering commitment to community nourishment.
These meals were distributed to two groups who matter deeply to us.

A portion of the meals were delivered to the U.S. Forest Service team in Carbondale . Choosing to support the USFS was intentional. The U.S. Forest Service plays a critical role in protecting natural ecosystems, stewarding public lands, managing forest health, and preserving the natural resources that inspire and inform our work every day.
Their mission aligns with Flora’s belief that sustainable design and responsible material innovation must begin with respect for nature. Providing meals to the Forest Service felt like a meaningful way to show appreciation for the people safeguarding the landscapes that make our valley and our planet so extraordinary.

The remaining meal packages were delivered to Stepping Stones RFV , a local nonprofit that supports youth and young adults across the valley. Their work is wide-ranging and deeply impactful: providing safe spaces, mentorship, resources, and community for children and teens, including those without stable family support.
Stepping Stones' mission—to meet young people where they are and help them build resilience, confidence, and belonging—resonates strongly with our team. Thanksgiving can be a challenging time for youth without family support systems, and being able to offer a warm, shared meal felt like a small but meaningful way to contribute.
We’re grateful to The Supply Collective for preparing each meal with care and to the dedicated teams at the U.S. Forest Service and Stepping Stones for the work they do every day. Community support happens through collaboration, and we’re proud to be part of that ecosystem.

How You Can Help Support Stepping Stones
For those interested in supporting Stepping Stones beyond this initiative, the organization is currently running a year-end matching campaign, where all donations are doubled through the end of the year. Every contribution makes twice the impact.

Efforts like this help strengthen the connections that make our valley feel like home. We’re thankful to be part of this community and look forward to finding more ways to support one another in the seasons ahead.
